Job Description

The NAV Developer’s primary responsibility is to carry out configuration and development activities in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV system. In addition to this, the NAV Developer will be required to analyze and contribute to functional specifications provided by business users and produce technical specifications in line with agreed standards.

3 or more years experience as a software developer specifically working with NAV C/SIDE C/AL development language, Role Tailored Client (RTC) development experience (including page and report development in Visual Studio), Experience with NAV 2009 and later versions and AL/BC Experience is must.

Prior NAV upgrade and data migration experiences are highly desired. Ability to document code customizations and integrations in compliance with established standards and practices.


  • Configure, develop and deliver MS Dynamics NAV software and components
  • Create new and modify existing customizations and integrations as requested by the business
  • Perform data conversions, system upgrades, debug system problems, and craft resolutions
  • Installation and implementation of service packs and hot fixes as needed
  • Technical liaison to business groups for application support
  • Test functionality developed by the development team against business requirements
  • Support and drive process change and communication in line with NAV best practice
  • Provide pre-go-live and post-go-live end user support
  • Serve as the NAV technical expert on the development team
  • Take responsibility for the customized unit programming and overall system functionality
  • Work with the Project Managers, Business Analyst, and Consultants to understand the business/application requirements of the assigned tasks
  • Take responsibility for delivering development tasks within agreed budgets and timelines
